Amsterdam International Fashionweek was a faitytale with a “Brillant” ending. The AIFW was closed with a fabulous fashionshow by Club Brillant.

Every year, Club Brillant brings international designers to show their collection on the Amsterdam runway. This year, the american label L’agence was invited by Club Brillant to show their beautiful designs and also launch their eyewear collection at the Westergasfabriek.

Tony Cohen

A/W 2011 SuperTrash

On Saturday January 29 SuperTrash showed in a packed Gashouder her latest Autumn Winter collection during Amsterdam International Fashion Week. The hall, filled with 2000 people, was very excited about the fantastic show that was opened by international supermodel Dewi Driege. On the celebrity packed front row were Georgina Verbaan, Bracha of Doesburgh and Lonneke Engel and many others. Read More

La Petite Mort

During the Amsterdam International Fashion Week Individuals shows their fall/winter 2011/2012 collection. La Petite Mort is the tenth collection of the fashionlabel from students from the AMFI.
This collection shows the inner struggle between the desire for freedom and the need of retaining control. This was manifested in the use of light smooth, sometimes transparent materials like silk. Also the loose silhouettes stressed this desire.
The emphasis was on the female form by corsets and increased shoulder parties. Just like last season there was a lot of attention for the small details. This makes the collection very special.
This collection contains less color. They used a lot of classic black combine with a spark of copper luxury fabrics like cashmere and leather.

The collection of ZEM by Samira Algoe has the name the Sounds Of Mountains. And it really had a fresh interpretation of the already known combination of the use of geometric flatten. This collection is being brought with soft colors. The colors are not really colors but shadows from other colors. The colors do you think of wintercold, snow, rain, wind and bright sunlight.

AIFW: Addy van den Krommenacker, dresses or curtains?

The show started quite hilarious. The catwalk, covered with a golden mirrors, reflected so everyone could peak underneath the dresses of the models…This resulted in laughter in the first 5 minutes, when people started to take pictures of the panties instead of the dresses.
