Sunday August 21st was the third edition of Grazia PC Catwalk 2010. The PC Hooftstraat in Amsterdam (the high end fashion street of Amsterdam) was a big fashion (open air) event. 1200 frontrow seats were available for the real fashionistas. Everyone was welcome and it was a very crowdy event. A lot of Dutch celebrities are spotted during the fashion show.

Big brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Replay, Ikks and Armani presented their collection for the next season. 80 models consisting children, women and men walked over the 350 meter catwalk. The third edition of Grazia PC Catwalk was again a big succes!

Our street style in South Africa is very different to most countries as we have a huge mixture of races, cultures and different styles. There are a vast amount of people who follow trends, but most of them tend to make their own and because we are a season behind meaning its winter here right now when everyone else is in summer, we tend to rock trends in different seasons.
For example the” it” garment for summer while everyone else is wearing with bare legs and sandals we can wear it with tights and jackets.

On Wednesday Lilyscloset organized a shoppingnight in cooperation with Depster, a luxury handbag brand. We noticed a very relaxing atmosphere and took a look at the whole collection. Lily’s collection exists of (black) dresses, jumpsuits, shoes and accessories. You can find all items in every color and sizes. Mariana and I bought a jumpsuit, and it fit’s perfectly!

In the studio of Margriet Deppe, the owner of Depster, you can find a big assortment of handbags, clutches and accessories. The trendy luxury handbags are from real leather, handmade by Depster Design. Depster is unique because you can compose your own handbag. The bags are also available in different styles, sizes and colors.

On Monday we visited the 29th edition of the Modefabriek. We attended different lectures and fashion shows. The press presentation of Nalden, the well known blogger of Nalden.net, announced that he’s going to open a webshop in September. After that we attended three fashion shows of NOON, Next & Cuttingedge and AAIKO. AAIKO’s collection was made from fine fabrics. We loved to see the dresses, tunic’s, jumpsuits and harem pants. The army green colour is going to be one of the trends in 2011. After the shows we visited different stands and took a look at other new brands. This season there were a lot of men clothing brands.

Our eyecatcher of the Modefabriek was the jewelry line of Blingissimo. Blingissimo’s collection is designed in Italy and is made of high quality Silver and crystallized Swarovski elements. We already loving it! Blingissimo have been inferred of the Italian word bellissimo. It’s a beautiful jewel line with a bling! Last week we visited Trash & Treasures during the Amsterdam International Fashion Week. Trash & Treasures, a Downtown programme, is a garage sale where you can find new and vintage clothing, shoes and accessories.
The best shops, brands, work of young designers, artists and many more are a part of this event. We spotted Lilyscloset and Les Tai Tai. There was also a signing session with designer Bas Kosters.

Trash & Treasures is inspired by garage sales in Brick Lane in London and Mauerpark in Berlin. They started 1,5 year ago and now you can find this lovely event (almost) in the whole country.

An ideal place for special items and a lot of other treasures.

During the Trash & Treasures event we met Lilyscloset! Lilyscloset is the place for discovering new and vintage fashion all over the world. From London and other fashion cities till hippy markets in Ibiza.
They are also selling little black dresses and beautiful designerdresses like Diane von Furstenberg. You can find different stuff for every budget. Just come and and take a look. Every Week you can find new stuff on Lilyscloset.nl.

We already love it! Lilyscloset is a initiate of Lilian Bunders. The website is on air for a few Weeks now and the reactions are very positive. Lilyscloset is also being asked to do the styling on different events like the Openingsoirée of Amsterdam International Fashion Week and the Glammie awards. We already love it!

Saturday the 17^th of July Conny Groenewegen presented her collection in her own unique way during AIFW. The show takes place outside, where a labyrinth is created by plasticized pallet blocks on which the public can sit down. Both the public and the models are wearing headphones through which the accompanying music of the show sounds. At the beginning of the show the models come out wrapped in plastic like cocoons. When they are liberated from their cocoons the beautiful creations become visible.

Yesterday Monique Collignon proudly presented her very feminim and wearable Prét a Porter collection named MC by Monique Collignon. Beside this, she has also a Haute Couture collection. The collection is inspired to reach a bigger female group. We saw a lot of different trousers, pants, trenchcoats, blouses, shirts and the little black dresses. The thirteenth edition of Amsterdam International Fashion Week is already next week. The official catwalk program starts this Wednesday 14 July till Sunday 18 July. A week full of fashion, glamour and fun! Fesjon will be attending a lot of different fashion shows for a report. A special thanks to all PR agencies for the invites!
