Lifu Hsiao, how is born in Taiwan, graduated at the Fashion Institute Arnhem in 2008. After working at Veronique Branquinho in 2009, Hsiao is now launching his own womens label.De in Taiwan geboren Lifu Hsiao studeerde in 2008 af aan de Fashion Instituut Arnhem. Na gewerkt te hebben bij Veronique Branquinho in 2009, besloot Hsiao om zijn eigen dameslijn te lancheren.

For his a/w collection Hsiao was inspired by his favorite pianist Glenn Gould, playing the Goldberg variations from J.S. Bach. He associate his interpretation with the Amish people.

The religious and somewhat restrained dress of the Amish is visible in reversed shoulder pads, which create an oblique shoulder line.The modern and refined collection displays a full range of womenswear, including skirts, dresses coats, blouses, trouser and shirts.Voor zijn herfst/winter 2010-2011 collectie Hsiao was geïnspireerd door zijn favorite pianist Glenn Gould, hij speelt de Goldberg variatie van J.S. Bach. Hij associeerd zijn interpertatie met de Amish.

Het geloof en nogal sobere jurken van de Amish is zichtbaar in de omgekeerde schoudervulling, wat een schuine schouderpartij creeërt. De moderne en verfijnde collectie geeft een totale dames collectie weer, van rokken, jurken, jassen, blouses, broeken en shirts.

To reflect the Amish attitude even more Hsiao chose to work with materials that are both “holy and rustic, alienating and earthy”. High-tech nylons and polyesters are combined with natural fabrics such as wools, silks and cotton. The material use add an extra dimension to the collection. The colour combinations are remarkable: yellow, whites and blacks are matched with blues, browns and a boldy checked fabric.Om de Amish karakter nog meer naar buiten te laten komen koos Hsiao om te werken met materialen die iets “heiligs maar ruwe, buitenaards maar aardelijks” hebben. High-tech nylons en trico worden gecombineerd met natuurlijk stoffen als wol, zijde en katoen. De materiaal keuze geeft de collectie een extra dementie. De kleuren combinaties zijn opmerkelijk: geel, wit en zwart zijn gecombineerd met blauw, bruin en een kleurrijke geruite stof.
