Qouc Thang SS11 ‘Het moment voorbij’‘The past moment’

Op het scherm verschijnt onder de naam van de ontwerper een schild met twee gekruiste bijlen. Ik krijg onmiddellijk associaties met de middeleeuwen, ridders, jonkvrouwen en kastelen. Niets van dit alles blijkt waar als zich een bosachtige geur door de menigte verspreid en er subtiele vogel & oerwoud geluiden klinken. De übermannen die over de catwalk lopen lichten langzaam een tipje van de sluier op.
Thang refereert met zijn centrale thema naar ‘het manbeeld van de houthakker’. Stoere materialen als wol, leer en linnen, maar ook polyesters en nylon worden veelvuldig gebruikt in zijn SS11 collectie.
De bijzondere details zoals de extra plooien bij de schouders, leren inzetstukken bij de broek en tops plus het gebruik van schuifknopen springen bij de kledingstukken meteen in het oog. Voor de jas is een hoofdrol weggelegd, vooral de parka verschijnt in verschillende vormen.
Mijn persoonlijk favoriet is de mouwloze nylon parka met grote capuchon & de gestileerde houthakkers jas. Door het bijzondere kleurgebruik van bordeaux, grijs en blauw met rood en oranje als kleuraccent wordt de collectie nergens saai, integendeel, hij verrast. De moderne man mag vaker met dit bijltje hakken!On screen we watched, right under the name of the designer, a shield with two crossed axes. I associated it immediately with the Middleages, knights, castles and noble women.
Could I be more wrong? When a woodlike scent fills the space and do I hear birds whistling? The super males who are walking on the catwalk are revealing a little more of this mystery…
Thang refers with his central theme to ”The male image of a woodworker’ . Tough materials like wool, leather and linen but also polyesters and nylon are well represented in his SS11 collection.
The special details like extra folds along the shoulders, leather linings on the trousers and tops and slide buttons are instantly being noticed on the garments. The jacket takes the leading part this evening, especially the parka appears in many different forms.
My personal favorite is the sleeveless nylon parka with a huge hood and the formalized woodworkers coat. The collection never bores because of the extraordinary colorpalet of bordeaux, grey and blue with red and orange as a coloraccent, on the contrary, it surprises! The modern man may use this ‘axe’ more often!
