Linus Bill exposition in FOAM
FOAM (Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam) is dé expositieruimte voor jong talent wat betreft fotografie. De Zwisterse Linus Bill presenteert daar van 26 maart tot 2 juni 2010 zijn expositie ‘The Greatest Hits Vol. 1’. FOAM (Photographymuseum Amsterdam) is thé exposition space for young photography talent. The Swiss Linus Bill presents his exposition ‘The Greatest Hits Vol. 1′ there from March 26th till June 2nd 2010.
Al zijn foto’s en enkele beelhouwwerken worden gepresenteerd in een schaalmodel van het museum, op een schaal van 1:10. Ook alle kunstwerken in deze maquette zijn op schaal geproduceerd en omvatten beeldhouwwerken en een serie van ongeveer twintig foto’s. De beeldhouwwerken zijn kleimodellen, gepresenteerd als driedimensionale abstracte schilderwerken. Bills foto’s hebben een mysterieus karakter en de oorsprong ervan is vaak ondefinieerbaar. Nieuwe en vaak abstracte werken worden gecomplementeerd met oudere werken, die de bezoeker een nieuw inzicht geven in zijn huidige. All of his pictures and a few sculptures will be presented on a scalemodel of the museum, on a scale 1:10. Also all the artworks are made on scale and include sculptures and a serie of circa twenty photo’s. The sculptures are clay models, presented as threedimensional abstract paintings. Bills pictures have a mysterious character and their offspring is often indefinable. New and often abstract works are complimented with older works, that give the visitor a new view on his current.
Linus Bill studeerde fotografie aan de Zürich University of the Arts. Hij heeft tussen 2004 en 2010 deelgenomen aan verschillende groep- en solotentoonstellingen in Berlijn, Zürich, Hamburg, Stockholm, Wenen en New York. In 2009 won hij de Grand Prix Du Jury van het Festival International de Photographie Hyères. Bill heeft ook verschillende publicaties uitgebracht, waaronder Polizei Geschlossen Sorry, Rollo Press, Zürich 2008 en Tu M‘as Volé Mon Vélo. Linus Bill studied photography at the Zürich University of the Arts. He took part on different group- and soloexhibitions in Berlin, Zürich, Stockholm, Wenen and New York from 2004 till 2010. In 2009 he won the Grand Prix Du Jury from the Festival International the Photographie Hyères. Bill has also given many different publications, such as Polizei Geschlossen Sorry, Rolo Press, Zürich 2008Tu M’as Volé Mon Vélo.
