As well as all the hard hours in front of the computer screen, work can also be at a fashion show & networking. I adore shows, although I normally do not attend that many myself, I normally have an assistant attend.
Some go for the event itself, some go to see what trends will emerge, however I go to really understand the concept of the brand & appreciate the craftsmanship of the designer & their team.
I wonder sometimes after interviewing a designer how they have had models turn up late or not at all, investors pull out or diminish funds & they still try their best with what they have.
The same goes for writers, especially now. I appreciate blogging, I even plan to start myself, however when I see bloggers on a front row & a professional journalist further back, you have to wonder about the changes happening within the media….
Having spoken about models, these are also people I appreciate within the industry… they have to go through a lot, for so little at times, it’s a lot of pressure especially for the youngest ones. Their beauty sometimes adored, other times not even noted, travelling, endless rejections at castings…
N.B. Sometimes being appreciated does not always mean that you are accepted
