Styling Amsterdam and the World Fashion Centre organize the Top Model of Colour model contest on Saturday March, 27th. With the slogan “Injecting colour into mainstream” Monica van Halder, the organizer of the event, wants to give female models with a multiracial background the opportunity to work with professionals from fashion industry.

23 Models are selected on February, 27th during the last casting of Top Model of Colour. The jury consists of Hilmar Mulder (Editor in Chief of Grazia Magazine) and Mariana Verkerk (Catwalk coach of Benelux’ Next Top Model) and more will choose and select the winner of these year’s edition. The winner wins a lot of great prices and the guests can also win some awesome stuff.

The Amsterdam International Fashionweek is coming closer, Amsterdam will be dominated by the Amsterdam International Fashion Week starting next month.

A list of designers like Jan Taminiau, Mada van Gaans, SuperTrash, Claes Iversen and Michael Barnaart van Bergen will show their designs on the catwalk during this great fashion event. Also unique about this edition is that AIFW is working for the first time with a Swedish designer, Camilla Norrback. She will also show her designs during this event. A new initiate of the Fashion Week organization is the Fashionweek LAB. Fashionweek LAB. gives young talented designers the opportunity to show their designs during AIFW. Some interesting labels like ‘Mattijs’ of Mattijs van Bergen, Ado les scents by Hyun Yeu and OntFront will also be a part of AIFW.

The 12th edition of the Amsterdam International Fashion Week starts on Wednesday January 27th till Sunday January 31, 2010. Fesjon is also attending this event for a report, so don’t miss it and keep on checking the website for more information.

Go to Haarlem, The Hague or Amsterdam there you find a store called Lien and Giel. It’s a store how sells amazing and beautiful brands. Nice colors and fabrics that stay beautiful for years.

Take the train and go…really the brands are absolutely free off all fashion. They are so nice..you can wear it every season. They also have there own website www.lienengiel.nl the models they just for the pictures are the people how work in the store. So nice!!

Aanstaande dinsdag (21 juli 2009) wordt de tentoonstelling Foam_Fashion blog van Garance Doré fotografie museum Foam, te Amsterdam, geopend.  Garance Doré is Franse een illustrator die, uit frustratie die haar werk met zich meebracht, begon met het schrijven van een blog.

Ze wilde meer vrijheid en spontaniteit in haar werk en begon met het publiceren van tekeningen die door korte tekstjes gezelschap werden gehouden. Fashion is al een passie sinds ze een kind was. Dit onderwerp kwam daarom steeds weer aan bod op haar website.  Het fotograferen van mensen die zich tijdens Fashion Weeks rondom de shows begeven is pas later gekomen. Tegenwoordig zijn haar foto’s in veel internationale glossy’s (o.a. Elle, Vogue) en kranten (The New York Times, The Guardian) te zien geweest.

Sneakerfreaks watch out! New balance en modehuis Nine West (my mom’s favourite brand) werken samen aan een nieuwe sneaker lijn. Toen ik dit las dacht ik: “dat is op zich niet zo speciaal.” De sneakers op de website van Elle USA zagen er cute uit, maar die van nike zijn dat op zich ook. Toch bedacht ik me dat ik bij Nine West niet snel aan sneakers, met name haar kleuren zou denken, maar aan wat meer klassieks. Following weekend it is possible to walk about on the Christmas market, to search for presents for under the tree. I am not talking about the average glitter Christmas market, but a Funky X-mas Market that will be organized on Sunday December 14th in the Culture park of the Westergas-fabric in Amsterdam. 100 Creative people will sell there creations of toys, clothes, art and bags till furniture in this park. The whole park is decorated and Christmas trees, boxes of fire, glühwein and Chinese lanterns put the finishing touch on it all. The market is located alongside the waterfront of the Polonceaukade and inside the halls of the companies. The entrance is free and opens from 10 till 17 o’clock.
