Elsien Gringhuis won €25.000 with her collection for the first Green Fashion Competition. There were 8 different collections nominated. Winde Reinstra her green haute couture is on the edge of fashion and art, showing a fascination with structures and characterized by a recognizable signature.
The 14th Amsterdam International Fashion Week (AIFW) will be held at the Westergasterrein in Amsterdam from 26 to 30 January 2011. Opening the official runway presentations on Wednesday, 26 January will be a show by Jan Taminiau. The schedule for the following days will be filled with new talented designers, established names and trendsetting fashion labels. New names on the programme include Bas Kosters, Tony Cohen and Velour.
The Fashion Week LAB. will provide a platform for eight ambitious young designers. In addition to the shows, the AIFW will organise DOWNTOWN, a varied programme of fashion-related activities open to the public that will open at the INDIVIDUALS brand store.

Amsterdam International Fashion Week closed in style with a spectacular show of Club Brillant. The hall was very full some people couldn’t even sit down.From beginning to end we watched the show with a lot of enthusiasm. Dutch designers where presenting there most beautiful creations, with 60 models, this the most amount of models that has been walking for a show at AIFW.
We have seen creations of Daryl van Wouw, Elsien Gringhuis, Monique Collignon, Lew, LaDress, Mada van Gaans, MalouseBastiaan, Ontfront, And Beyond, Michael Barnaart van Bergen, Jeroen van Tuyl, Bibi van der Velden and Ilja Visser.
In 2008 Elsien Gringhuis graduated from ArtEZ academy for art in Arnhem. The fall/winter 2010/2011 collection is here second collection she is presenting during Amsterdam International Fashion Week since than.
Elsien won in 2008 the prestigious Createurope contest, the most creative collection of the year award from the Italian Mittelmoda, the Hema design contest and got nominated for lichting 2008 and the Frans Molenaar award.
The fall/winter 2010-2011 collection give you the feeling to be trapped in the hyper modern mechanic and rushing. De zomereditie vindt plaats van 18 juli tot en met 26 juli 2009 op het Westergasterrein.Het officiële catwalk programma, van 22 juli tot en met 26 juli 2009, bestaat uit shows van zowel getalenteerde jonge en gevestigde ontwerpers als toonaangevende labels. Daarnaast brengt AIFW een interessant business programma, geheel in lijn met de visie van AIFW om de geconstateerde kloof tussen creativiteit en commercie te dichten. Het publieke programma zal van 18 juli tot en met 26 juli plaatsvinden in diverse winkels, clubs en galeries door de hele stad. Op 18 juli vindt de kick-off plaats in Heineken the City.
