Ballets Russes

Nov. 9th 2011 by Mariana Davelaar (editor)

Read More

Dark Jewellery

Apr. 12th 2010 by Maaike Staal (former Fesjon stylist)

The slightly obscure jewellery from Pamela Love is enormously popular. There are a lot of (inter)national magazines paying attention to her designs as well as the celebrities. Unfortunatelly the brand is not for sale in the Netherlands, but on www.fashionology.nl of designer Rachel Duister you’ll find similar jewellery and it’s a lot cheaper.

Rachel watches the trends closely; Ann Demeulemeester presented last autumn her Spring/Summer 2010 collection on the catwalks in Paris which featured special jewellery and accessoires. Rachel sells her own variation on this at fashionology.

MAEI; Another fabulous concept!!

Mar. 21st 2010 by Mariken Heijwegen (former Fesjon stylist)

The story behind the jewelrybrand MAEI

Byoux Etcetera offers newcomers the opportunity to introduce themselves to the market. This time it’s up to Marieke Slangen. In November 2008 this young designer stood with her label MAEI on the international art fair Sieraad in Amsterdam. And last January, she attended for the second time Eclat de Mode in Paris.

“MAEI  was founded about 2.5 years ago, out of my love of folklore and folk art. As a child I was fond of folklore. I could browse books with pictures and drawings of distant countries, painted furniture and costumes for long hours. After I finished my bachelor in Education in Fine Arts and Design I became interested in jewelry and I started these designs. My love for folklore returned in the form of hand-painted floral motifs on wooden beads.
