The 14th Amsterdam International Fashion Week (AIFW) will be held at the Westergasterrein in Amsterdam from 26 to 30 January 2011. Opening the official runway presentations on Wednesday, 26 January will be a show by Jan Taminiau. The schedule for the following days will be filled with new talented designers, established names and trendsetting fashion labels. New names on the programme include Bas Kosters, Tony Cohen and Velour.
The Fashion Week LAB. will provide a platform for eight ambitious young designers. In addition to the shows, the AIFW will organise DOWNTOWN, a varied programme of fashion-related activities open to the public that will open at the INDIVIDUALS brand store.

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands — Last Friday a long wait was rewarded. SuperTrash would be THE show of this years Fashion Week. Rumors were whispered that the SuperTrash goodiebags were filled with iPhones, valuable cheques and expensive sunglasses. Also would Keith Richard’s daughter Alexandra Richards sit front row! I can only confirm that last rumor to be true. Alexandra sat a hand reach from my seat! The goodiebag I was trying to grab didn’t make it to my hand!!
The collection was inspired on Cleopatra, queen of the old Egypt. A powerful, self conscious and tempting woman. Exactly what a woman should have to wear this new collection! The dress length was Super Short and the fit Super Tight. A bit too Super Trashy? I do not think so. Beautiful knitting was shown (just tell me, how trashy is knitting?!) and the color palet was a decent earth ground. Unfortunately with a golden border here and there…
The Amsterdam International Fashionweek is coming closer, Amsterdam will be dominated by the Amsterdam International Fashion Week starting next month.
A list of designers like Jan Taminiau, Mada van Gaans, SuperTrash, Claes Iversen and Michael Barnaart van Bergen will show their designs on the catwalk during this great fashion event. Also unique about this edition is that AIFW is working for the first time with a Swedish designer, Camilla Norrback. She will also show her designs during this event. A new initiate of the Fashion Week organization is the Fashionweek LAB. Fashionweek LAB. gives young talented designers the opportunity to show their designs during AIFW. Some interesting labels like ‘Mattijs’ of Mattijs van Bergen, Ado les scents by Hyun Yeu and OntFront will also be a part of AIFW.
