During the Amsterdam International Fashion Week Individuals shows their fall/winter 2011/2012 collection. La Petite Mort is the tenth collection of the fashionlabel from students from the AMFI.
This collection shows the inner struggle between the desire for freedom and the need of retaining control. This was manifested in the use of light smooth, sometimes transparent materials like silk. Also the loose silhouettes stressed this desire.
The emphasis was on the female form by corsets and increased shoulder parties. Just like last season there was a lot of attention for the small details. This makes the collection very special.
This collection contains less color. They used a lot of classic black combine with a spark of copper luxury fabrics like cashmere and leather. De collectie toonde de innerlijke strijd tussen het verlangen naar vrij zijn en de behoeft om controle te behouden. Dit uitte zich in het gebruik van lichte vloeiende, soms transparante materialen als zijden. Ook de losse silhouetten benadrukten dit verlangen.
Het accent lag op de vrouwelijke vormen en dit werd geaccentueerd door onder andere korsetten en verhoogde schouderpartijen. Net als vorig seizoen, was er veel aandacht aan de kleine details besteed. Dit maakte de collectie erg speciaal.
De collectie bestond ditmaal uit weinig kleur, er werd vooral gebruik gemaakt van klassiek zwart, in combinatie met een vonk van koper in luxe stoffen als kasjmier en leer.
