’11.11′ is de titel voor de SS10 collectie van Elsien Gringhuis. Deze collectie gaat over de stress van alledag. In deze tijd waarin de ene deadline de andere in razend tempo opvolgt was de jonge ontwerpster heel erg op zoek naar rust en focus in zichzelf. Dit heeft zich geuit in een strakke, hoekige zelfbewuste en minimalistische collectie.’11.11′ is the title of the SS10 collection from Elsien Gringhuis. This collection is all about the all day stress. In these days where we have one deadline after the other the young designer was looking for peace and quiet within herself. That result in a thight, angular self-conscious and minimize collection.

Elsien Gringhuis is in deze collectie aan de slag gegaan met constructies en coupetechnische ingrepen. Zo heeft zij deze collectie een hele geconstrueerd jas ontworpen, die in feite maar uit twee patroondelen bestaat. Alles is geordend, symmetrisch en constructief.In this collection Eslien Gringhuis worked with constructions and cut-technical intervention. For this collection she designed a constructed coat  that excist from only two pattern. Everything is well-orderd, symmetrical and constructive.

Opvallend is haar veelvoudig gebruik van stugge materialen zoals zijde, leer en eigenhandig gecoat en afgebiesde stoffen. Het geheel aan ontwerpen  gaat voornamelijk over het af kaderen van grenzen en controle.Her frequent use of firm materials such as silk, leather and with own hands coated and rushed fabrics is very noticeable. Designing is all about defineing boundaries and controle.

Elsien heeft voor deze collectie met weinig kleuren gewerkt, het totaalbeeld voor de SS10 collectie kenmerkt zich door kleuren als wit gecombineerd met hemelsblauw en ijsgrijs wat het geheel een architectonisch karakter geeft zonder af te doen aan de draagbaarheid van de ontwerpen.For this collection Elsien didn’t use a lot of colour, the overall picture of the SS10 collection identify it self by useing white combined with sky blue and ice grey it gets a complete architectonic character without take off on the wearablility from the designs.
