Soms surf ik gewoon op ‘t internet om te kijken naar wat ik niet kan kopen. Teenvogue bezoek ik, omdat ze lezers vaak in ‘t zonnetje zetten, naast een vaste dosis celebfashion en nieuws die eigelijk in alle bladen/site te lezen zijn. Toen ik vorige week interviews van de bloggers of the week zat te lezen, kwam ik meer dan eens lookbook.nu tegen. Ik had er nog nooit van gehoord en besloot een kijkje te nemen.Every now and then I surf the internet to look at stuff I can not afford. I visit Teenvogue.com, because a great deal of their website’s focus’on their readers – apart from the usual dose of celeb (fashion) news to be found in any other magazine. I was reading the interviews with their blogger’s of the week when I ran into lookbook.nu. I had never heard of the website and decided to give it a try.

Lookbook.nu is het initiatief van een “guy and a girl hailing from San fransisco” die van kunst, cultuur en mode houden. Leden, want je moet je inschrijven, kunnen een foto van zichzelf in hun favoriete looks op de site plaatsen.  Laats geplaatste look zijn steeds op de main site te zien.  Hiernaast kun je ook door het bestand van de site bladeren, bijv. op kledingmerk, maar ook op woonplaats. Mensen uit de hele wereld hebben zich al aangemeld! Of anderen laten weten wat je van hun looks vindt.Lookbook.nu is initiated by a “guy and girl hailing from San Fransisco, CA who like art, fashion, and culture….” Members, because you do have to sign-up and login, can post pictures of themselves rocking their favorite looks, on the website. You’ll find the most recent posted looks on the mainpage. You could also browse the archive, because there’s more than just the mainpage, and look up memberpages on name brand, or location. People form all over the world have registred themselves already. You could also tell others what you think of their comments.

Ik moet eerlijk toegeven dat de foto´s er voor mij soms too artsy uitzien, maar de kledingstukken die tegen komt zijn inspirational. Het roept een beetje dare too befferent, bij mij op. Ook geven veel van de foto’s goed weer hoe je er met simpele kledingstukken toch different uit kunt zien.Some of the pictures, i have to admit, are a little too artsy for my likings, but the pieces worn by the members can inspire you do some new things yourself. They kind of stir up the ‘dare to be different vibe within me.’ A lot of the looks reveal how simple pieces can still be part of an extraordinary look.
