Monday the 22nd of November H&M opened its Dutch flagship store in a magnificent monumental building on Dam Square, one of the most high-profile locations in Amsterdam and the historical heart of the Dutch capital. This exciting new store will be the first H&M store in the Netherlands to feature the Home concept. And with six floors of shopping, customers can also enjoy an extensive range of fashion and accessories for women, men and kids. Maandag 22 november opende Hennes & Mauritz, haar Nederlandse flagshipstore in een bijzonder rijksmonument op de Dam, het bekendste plein van Amsterdam en tevens het historische hart van de hoofdstad. De nieuwe vestiging zal als eerste H&M-winkel in Nederland het Home-concept verkopen. Daarnaast beschikt de winkel, die maar liefst zes verdiepingen telt, over een breed assortiment mode en accessoires voor zowel dames, heren, jongeren als kinderen.

The invited guests and public came flocking towards the Dam square to enjoy the surrealistic fairy tale of light and magic effects for over 3 minutes. A red bow pops open and the historic building transforms into a colourful dollhouse where nothing is what it seems. When an old music box begins to play the building awake and the musical notes lighting up different rooms.  Several meters high boots start tapping, mannequins are dressing up for a party and supersized items are seems weightless floating through the building. When the building settles down and the red bow goes back on the building, there was resounding applause. Ruim 3 minuten konden de genodigden gasten en het toegestroomde publiek op de Dam genieten van een surrealistisch sprookje van licht en magische effecten. Een rood gestrikt lint – dat het gehele pand omvat – springt open en het historisch gebouw transformeert in een kleurrijk poppenhuis waarin niets is wat het lijkt. Op het moment dat een ouderwets muziekdoosje begint te spelen ontwaakt het gebouw en zijn het de ontsnappende muzieknoten die de verschillende kamers doen oplichten. Metershoge rijglaarsjes beginnen te tappen, etalagepoppen maken zich op voor een feestje en supersized voorwerpen lijken gewichtsloos door het pand te zweven. Wanneer het gebouw tot rust komt en het rode lint zich er weer omheen strikt, klinkt er een daverend applaus over het bekendste plein van Amsterdam.

We were introduced to the Home collection of H&M and the scoop of the evening was the Lavin by H&M collection that was sold out in a few hours by the way.
Thursday November 25th the store will officially be open for public, the store will be open from 10.00 a.m. till midnight. From 3 p.m. till midnight there will be different well-known DJ’s such as Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Jaz von D and Jaziah – hosted by MC Mitch Crown & Zawdi MC.Wij mochten als eerste kennis maken met de langverwachte Home collectie van H&M en de primeur van de avond was dan ook wel de Lavin by H&M collectie die binnen een paar uur uitverkocht was.
De winkel zal donderdag 25 november met veel spectakel geopend worden voor publiek, de winkel zal dan van 10.00 tot 00.00 geopend zijn. Vanaf 15.00 tot middernacht zullen verschillende bekende DJ’s draaien waaronder Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Jaz von D en Jaziah – gehost door MC Mitch Crown & Zawdi MC.
