In september verschijnt volgens traditie elk jaar Vogue’s dikste nummer van het jaar. Filmmaker R.J. Cutler nam een kijkje achter de schermen bij Vogue.  De documentaire The September Issue is het resultaat van 9 maanden filmen. Zoals de titel al verraad wordt in deze documentaire vastgelegd wat er allemaal komt kijken bij de totstandkoming van het nummer dat in september (2007) uitkwam. Het september nummer is jaarlijks het dikste nummer dat door Vogue US wordt uitgebracht.

Uiteraard komen we nu ook te weten wie de mensen (naast uiteraard Anna Wintour) achter Vogue US zijn en of het in de werkelijkheid net zo leuk is om aan het blad te werken als dat het om te lezen is…

The September Issue is the result of nine months of filming. As you
might have guessed from the title, the documentary records the process
by which the September (2007) issue was created.

Of course, we will find out who the people (besides Anna Wintour) are
who create Vogue US and whether in reality it is as fun to work on the
magazine as it is reading it…

Het is nog niet duidelijk wanneer de film in Nederland te zien zal zijn. Voorlopig kun je op youtube de eerste beelden van de film (let op! niet de film zelf) en een interview van Anna Wintour  en de filmmaker op het Sundance Festival over de documentaire vinden.
