Last week we visited Trash & Treasures during the Amsterdam International Fashion Week. Trash & Treasures, a Downtown programme, is a garage sale where you can find new and vintage clothing, shoes and accessories.
The best shops, brands, work of young designers, artists and many more are a part of this event. We spotted Lilyscloset and Les Tai Tai. There was also a signing session with designer Bas Kosters.

Trash & Treasures is inspired by garage sales in Brick Lane in London and Mauerpark in Berlin. They started 1,5 year ago and now you can find this lovely event (almost) in the whole country.

An ideal place for special items and a lot of other treasures.

During the Trash & Treasures event we met Lilyscloset! Lilyscloset is the place for discovering new and vintage fashion all over the world. From London and other fashion cities till hippy markets in Ibiza.
They are also selling little black dresses and beautiful designerdresses like Diane von Furstenberg. You can find different stuff for every budget. Just come and and take a look. Every Week you can find new stuff on Lilyscloset.nl.

We already love it! Lilyscloset is a initiate of Lilian Bunders. The website is on air for a few Weeks now and the reactions are very positive. Lilyscloset is also being asked to do the styling on different events like the Openingsoirée of Amsterdam International Fashion Week and the Glammie awards. We already love it!

The French clothing brand IKKS is known for her unique styles and can’t be absent in the Downtown program of Amsterdam international Fashion week.

Amsterdam – No hordes little girls, but grown women gather last Saturday July 10th on the first floor of de Bijenkorf in Amsterdam for the Barbie fashionshow. Dutch fashion designers Bas Kosters, Claes Iversen, Miss Blackbirdy, Spijkers en Spijkers, Ady van Den Krommenacker en Supertrash designed clothes with Barbie as their inspiration.

The results were cute, chic, edgy or simple and the real-life Barbies modeling the designs had überlong eyelashes, wore big hair with the matching bangs.

Veel mensen denken bij het horen van Amsterdam International Fashion Week (ik eerst in elk geval wel) aan een hele lang catwalk waar Nederlandse designers aan een exclusief en zorgvuldig gekozen publiek hun creaties vertonen.

AIFW Downtown is een onderdeel van de Fashion Week dat voor iedereen toegankelijk is. Afgelopen zaterdag, 18 juli 2009, werd - voor de 4de keer – AIFW Downtown geopend in Heineken the city. Dit jaar werd de opening gevierd met een competitie “fashion in the city” die werd georganiseerd door de organisatie van AIFW, Heineken the City – een winkel waar je Heineken kunt bekijken, aantrekken en beluisteren - en Boomerang Creations werd uitgeroepen.
