Not moving to Dior ‘was probably best for everyone’ according to Marc Jacobs.
It is set to be a big year for Louis Vuitton. A major exhibition opens on March 9 at the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris, called simply ‘Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs’, spread over two floors, each one devoted to the life and work of each man.
“It’s a really great honour,’ Jacobs told the Telegraph . “It’s going to be a super animated, really great exhibition. I’m really proud of everyone here, proud for everyone here. As a New Yorker, I love Paris and I never in my wildest dreams as a teenager dreamed I would have a job working for this big luxury company. Now 15 years on, there is this thing at the Musée des Arts Decoratifs at the Louvre – it is really beyond my wildest dreams. It makes me very emotional – in a good way.”

The following John Galliano statement has been issued:
“Since the events of last Thursday evening I have not been able to make any public comment on what took place based upon advice from my French lawyer. However, given the continuing delays at the French Prosecutor’s Office I should make my position clear.
I completely deny the claims made against me and have fully co-operated with the Police investigation.
A number of independent witnesses have given evidence and have told the Police that I was subjected to verbal harassment and an unprovoked assault when an individual tried to hit me with a chair having taken violent exception to my look and my clothing. For these reasons I have commenced proceedings for defamation and the threats made against me. Read More

In the wake of the anti-Semitic remarks John Galliano was seen making in a video leaked online Monday, Dior issued a statement saying that designer John Galliano has been fired, effective immediately. “I very firmly condemn what was said by John Galliano, which totally contradicts the values which have always been defended by Christian Dior,” said Christian Dior CEO Sidney Toledano.
Having watched the racist rant, Natalie Portman, the Israeli-born face of Miss Dior Chérie, also released a statement. “I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today.”
“In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”
Dior suspended John Galliano last week after the designer was arrested for allegedly hurling anti-Semitic abuse at a couple sitting near him at La Perle bar in the fashionable Marais district in Paris.

As millions watched Natalie Portman’s TV ad for Miss Dior Cherie perfume air during the 2011 Oscars, a different video starring Dior designer John Galliano was also coming to light. It’s shocking, anti-Semitic content puts him on a collision course with the proudly Jewish Portman.
She was asked about Galliano’s comments in the backstage pressroom after her Best Actress Academy Awards win, but was prevented from answering by the event moderator. The U.K.’s Sun newspaper has obtained film of earlier remarks made by Galliano that are allegedly similar to those that resulted in his arrest, and subsequent suspension by the fashion house on Friday.

Also the new nailpolish collection from Dior. They have exclusive nailpolish colors developed to give a homage to the most beautiful cities: Paris, New York and London.
