Our street style in South Africa is very different to most countries as we have a huge mixture of races, cultures and different styles. There are a vast amount of people who follow trends, but most of them tend to make their own and because we are a season behind meaning its winter here right now when everyone else is in summer, we tend to rock trends in different seasons.
For example the” it” garment for summer while everyone else is wearing with bare legs and sandals we can wear it with tights and jackets.

On Wednesday Lilyscloset organized a shoppingnight in cooperation with Depster, a luxury handbag brand. We noticed a very relaxing atmosphere and took a look at the whole collection. Lily’s collection exists of (black) dresses, jumpsuits, shoes and accessories. You can find all items in every color and sizes. Mariana and I bought a jumpsuit, and it fit’s perfectly!
In the studio of Margriet Deppe, the owner of Depster, you can find a big assortment of handbags, clutches and accessories. The trendy luxury handbags are from real leather, handmade by Depster Design. Depster is unique because you can compose your own handbag. The bags are also available in different styles, sizes and colors.

Aaiko is coming with a summer collection that never been so divers as this one. Designer Pauline Brakenhoff is coming with three very strong themes with a lot of army-green and khaki with contrasted bright colours and graphic lines. From jumpsuit in snake print, detailed trenchcoats and armystyle skirts till diverse jackets and cardigans. And of course the indispensable silk dresses and tunic’s with beautiful details such as embroideries, mini sequines and eye catching lining.
The darylvanwouw store at the Prinsengracht is Amsterdam is closed since July 26th. With closing the store he says goodbye to his former partner Suit Supply.
The in China living designer want to focus on online retail, sales and distribution to stores and expanding his brand on the Asian market.
Daryl van Wouw is very thankful for the years of support but he is also happy to continue his journey independently. “The store and the collaboration with Suit Supply brought us a lot production and commercial knowledge. I have learned a lot from the pleasant collaboration and looking forward to get closer to my vision in designing and to explore my collection even further.” according to Daryl van Wouw.
The darylvanwouw-online store will open mid September.
After seeing his show during Amsterdam International Fashion Week we thought Daryl was doing very well… But rumor has it that the Daryl van Wouw shop in Amsterdam is closing there doors.
The reason to start an online shop and to focus more on the Asian market.

The talented designer Marcha Hüskes, who’s significant lineations and refined colorpallet are the foundation of the wearable, elegant result, studied at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem and get her “Master”at the Fashion Institute Arnhem.
In 1999 Hüskens won the prestige Frans Molenaar price, she chooses consciously for a clear style where qualitative high-end materials are been crafted to fine minimalistic forms. This season she designed a collection with feminine designs, with Milan as inspiration.
