H&M against AIDS

May. 16th 2010 by Amy Simpe (author)

Every twelve seconds, someone, somewhere becomes infected with the HIV virus. H&M, who launched the a campaign Designers against Aids to parttake in the battle against the disease, has decided to dedicate another collection to this cause. Twenty-five procent of the salesprice of each product will be donated to a project that parttakes in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

The upcoming collection will not be designed by celebreties. Lou Doillon, Lizzie Jagger and Josh Beech can, however, be seen as models on the ads for the campaign.

They’ll be dressed in summerdresses, shorts and items that make up the perfect outfit for the many festivals that will be held this summer. The collection even contains a tent and a matching bag. The message of safe sex that was to be seen on the shirts sold during the campaigns first two editions, however have disappeared.

The collection will be available in H&M stores near you (and online ofcourse) from the 20th of May.

Check out designersagainstaids.com for more information on the campaign.

H&M Garden Collection

Mar. 22nd 2010 by Mariana Davelaar (editor)

Just in time for spring, H&M is introducing its Garden Collection, which is full of floral prints-bright, bold and even subtle – all made in organic and recycled materials.

“We’re listening to our customer. Every year we use 50 percent more recycled product,” including PET bottles (aka plastic soda bottles) and recycled textile waste.

Aside from the recycled polyester, H&M’s 80-piece collection also includes eco-friendly fabrics like organic cotton, linen, and Tencel, which is produced with minimal environmental impact.

As you’d expect, the clothing itself is romantic and quite feminine. It’s styled in a ’70s, Talitha Getty kind of way — relaxed, flowing floral pieces you could imagine wearing on a yacht in the Mediterranean (or at your local pool).

And though the prints are all floral-inspired, they are not as precious as you’d expect — there’s a real modern edge to this collection, which hits the selling floor March 25.

Denim comeback

Feb. 26th 2010 by Gina Bijlard (former author)

How ever the Jeans where never completely gone, there are a lot of denim collections this upcoming season.
What used to be very fashionably wrong, is now a must.
To dress in denim from top to toe is now a  “do” on the fashion list, and next to that it’s its absolutely hot to combine different kinds of structure en colored denims.
Looking at the Jeans itself, we see a lot of washed, bleached, holes, ripped and the Boy-friend-model.

H&M has a small collection made completely from denim fabrics.
So not just Jeans but also denim blouses, jackets, tops, bags and other kind of accessories.

Fashion with a view

H&M

In spite of the fact it’s still winter and we are only allowed to dream about nice sunny spring days, H&M is going one step further. Sinds yesterday you have the possibility to shop for your spring/summer wardrobe. We see that the colour purple is going to the background and the green-blue tones are taking over. We also see a lot of pink and a lot of flowerprints on tops, bottoms, skirt and dresses. If we are looking at the colour pallet of H&M spring/summer 2010 will be a bright season. We can’t…

Jimmy Choo oproep

Last Saturday was officially a day full of ‘Jimmy Choo-madness’. The Jimmy Choo-collection appeared in several H&M stores and was also online available.
We from Fesjon.com are very curious what kind of treasures you found. What could you get? How did you get it? Did you lay in front of the store for hours and begged to get in first? Did you had a lot of luck online? Or did you find another dark and sneaky way? Tell us!
Send your story with pictures to redactie@fesjon.com and maybe you will be able to show your pieces of jewelery on Fesjon.com!
