The drama goes on…

Mar. 4th 2011 by Mariana Davelaar (editor)

John Galliano may have issued a statement of apology over his recent behavior, but the designer’s drama is far from over.

The Paris Prosecutors Office has decided to put the designer on trial following a police investigation, reports The Telegraph. His case is expected to be heard during the second quarter of this year.

If convicted, Galliano could face up to six months in prison and fines of up to €22,500 (about $31,207), the standard penalty in France for insult against people due to their origin, belonging or not belonging to a religion, race or ethnicity, according to WWD. Read More

Galliano’s statement…

Mar. 3rd 2011 by Mariana Davelaar (editor)

The following John Galliano statement has been issued:

“Since the events of last Thursday evening I have not been able to make any public comment on what took place based upon advice from my French lawyer. However, given the continuing delays at the French Prosecutor’s Office I should make my position clear.

I completely deny the claims made against me and have fully co-operated with the Police investigation.

A number of independent witnesses have given evidence and have told the Police that I was subjected to verbal harassment and an unprovoked assault when an individual tried to hit me with a chair having taken violent exception to my look and my clothing. For these reasons I have commenced proceedings for defamation and the threats made against me. Read More

Job opening at Dior

Mar. 2nd 2011 by Mariana Davelaar (editor)

In the wake of the anti-Semitic remarks John Galliano was seen making in a video leaked online Monday, Dior issued a statement saying that designer John Galliano has been fired, effective immediately. “I very firmly condemn what was said by John Galliano, which totally contradicts the values which have always been defended by Christian Dior,” said Christian Dior CEO Sidney Toledano.

Having watched the racist rant, Natalie Portman, the Israeli-born face of Miss Dior Chérie, also released a statement. “I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today.”

“In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful.”

Dior suspended John Galliano last week after the designer was arrested for allegedly hurling anti-Semitic abuse at a couple sitting near him at La Perle bar in the fashionable Marais district in Paris.

“It’s a perfect start for the season!”. “The spirit of Dior and the beauty of Claridges”.

During the start of the season there will be all sorts of events with a lot of entertainment. We’re all excited to see Galliano’s real creativity on its Christmas tree.

Vandevorst

De pruilerige rode lippen, lingerie met overdadig veel kant en kousen die omhoog gehouden worden met jarretels, het wijst erop dat An Vandevorst en Filip Arickx het over een andere boeg gooien.

Backstage legt het ontwerpers duo A.F.
