WWD reports that the company brought their new spokesperson to the Beauty International trade show in Dusseldorf , where they launched a new high-end hand cream called Dream Cream.

The Swarovski-blinged out 100ml jar will set you back about $226. For that price, it ought to contain diamond dust, a trend we’ve seen in beauty products in the past year. Giorgio Armani Designs for…

May. 9th 2010 by Mariana Davelaar (editor)

Looks like Giorgio Armani isn’t a one-woman man after all.

Fresh off designing a revealing bodysuit for Lady Gaga’s “American Idol” performance this week, the famed designer has announced that he’ll be working on a tour wardrobe for a major singer, and her name ain’t Gaga.

This time, it’s Alicia Keys who will be rocking the Armani as she embarks on her “The Element of Freedom” European tour, the company tells us.

Keys, who wore Armani for her 2008 “As I Am” tour, will hit the stage in four outfits from the Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani labels.

The luxe loot includes an embroidered, crocodile-print military leather jacket worn with leggings, a silk one-shoulder top and Swarovski crystal-studded leather boots.

Keys can also trade her shapewear tank in for a dark gray one-shoulder silk chiffon gown accented with Swarovski crystals and sequins; a second silk, embroidered one-shoulder top worn with leggings and crystal boots; and a sexy, ruffled black viscose lame mini dress accessorized with Swarovski crystal gloves.

Swarovski Bedazzles in ‘Sex and the City 2′

Apr. 22nd 2010 by Mariana Davelaar (editor)

All the sparkle you see in “Sex and the City 2″ is of course Swarovski!

With four of the most brand-conscious ladies around, it’s impossible to think that generic sparkle would do.  Continuing a long-standing relationship, Swarovski has partnered with Warner Bros. Pictures to provide “Sex” with sparkle on screen and off.

You’ll see Swarovski acting as a crystal chandelier in Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) dressing room/closet, on crystal-studded handbags the women carry, and as a champagne flute sipped by Mr. Big (Chris Noth).

But these attention getters are also showing their range, mainly as a breathtakingly bedazzled wedding cake (left).

In addition, more than 800 Swarovski boutiques worldwide will transform their windows in support of the film’s May 27 release, with displays that allow shoppers to accessorize like their favorite “SATC” character Carrie, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon), Samantha (Kim Cattrall), or Charlotte (Kristin Davis).

“It is an honor to be involved in one of the most anticipated movies of 2010,” Nadja Swarovski, vice-president, international communication for Swarovski said in a release.

“Swarovski is the perfect fit for the fabulous foursome and represents everything the movie evokes: fashion, glamour, femininity, and a strong sense of personal style.”

Matthew Williamson for Swarovski

Mar. 13th 2010 by Mariana Davelaar (editor)

Matthew Williamson debuted his first accessory collection in collaboration with Atelier Swarovski on the runway for spring 2010.

Williamson’s inspiration for the crystal cuffs, breastplate necklaces, and evening clutches was drawn from the artist Jim Lambie, who is best know for arranging brightly colored tape into geometric patterns. As a result the accessory collection consists of vibrantly colored, oversized graphic pieces.

For the spring collections Atelier Swarovski also worked with Zaha Hadid (zigzag-shaped rings), Jason Wu (sculptural necklaces) and Nicholas Kirkwood to create exclusive crystal jewelry and accessories. Past designer collaborations have included Christopher Kane, Doo.Ri Chung, Hussein Chalayan, Giles Deacon, Proenza Schouler, Rodarte, and Philip Crangi.

Stella in Wonderland

Feb. 7th 2010 by Gina Bijlard (former author)

We all know the story about Alice by now, a little girl that ends up in a Wonderland, where nothing is what it looks like.
Tim Burton’s 3D version of the fairytale Alice in Wonderland, starring Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway, is to be released in theaters March 2010.
In honor of this Disney film, Stella McCartney has designed a limited edition line of jewelry, that consists a necklace and a charmbracelet.

These items are designed in neutral black, soft pink and brown shades.
The charms, which are attached to a brass chain, feature Plexiglas, pearls, Swarovski crystals and come in shapes like a rabbit, the Mad hatter’s hat, a spade, club, heart and a diamond.

These wonderful jewelry are available by February 2010 in the Stella McCartney boutique.
You do have to put some money aside for these items, for 335 pound you will own a really unique bracelet from Stella.

Stella is by the not the only one who has designed jewelry with the fairytale Alice in Wonderland as a muze.
