‘Une garagesale Extraordinaire!’

Jul. 24th 2010 by Majdeline Abbou (former reporter)

Last week we visited Trash & Treasures during the Amsterdam International Fashion Week. Trash & Treasures, a Downtown programme, is a garage sale where you can find new and vintage clothing, shoes and accessories.
The best shops, brands, work of young designers, artists and many more are a part of this event. We spotted Lilyscloset and Les Tai Tai. There was also a signing session with designer Bas Kosters.

Trash & Treasures is inspired by garage sales in Brick Lane in London and Mauerpark in Berlin. They started 1,5 year ago and now you can find this lovely event (almost) in the whole country.

An ideal place for special items and a lot of other treasures.

When Oscar met Bally!

Mar. 12th 2010 by lilian

Pretty sure you recognize the “totally nothing to wear blues” ?! And really lose control because you  don’t have a clue what you should wear to that special party? Have you got that feeling? You look into your wardrobe and you still haven’t got anything to wear… no expenses spared. This feeling won’t leave until you buy something new! Okay let’s face it… that is pretty bad. but worse… when you also received an invitation for a wedding!!! Before you go totally out of your mind.. you decide to go shopping, because you remember the words:  “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue” Okay “something new”!

This is a sign.. this means you can go for shopping! You get lost and suddenly you are in a small street.. You look into the window…AND THERE HE IS… IT’S NOT TO BIG, NOT TO SMALL.. He is one of a kind! (It’s a ones in a lifetime opportunity) But he is not that young anymore (“Something old”) and it’s from leather. (The most beautiful bag you have ever seen, His name is Bally). Revintage is very hot at the moment! So you decide to go in that lovely shop.. You look around.. until.. “Something Blue”!! Someone is flirting.. And you are flirting back!
You can‘t hardly resist Oscar..! His beautiful skin, WOH! And then the pattern and his colours.. You can see his true colours.. You are in heaven! You can see those two are dancing with you at the wedding! You never know what you will find at this place.. At Van Gendt Vintage Boutique in Leiden everything is possible!

Maybe you can borrow the bracelet of your best friend…

You will be overwhelmed by this happy feeling which you feel immediately by entering this lovely vintage shop. Really something else! This one of a kind  bag and dress bought by Van Gendt Boutique!

I love Vintage

Feb. 20th 2010 by Gina Bijlard (former author)

Are you a real vintage-freak? Than you should defiantly take a look at the ilovevintage.nl website. ILV, as they abbreviate themselves, sell products that already experienced more than 1 life story. They are also offering unique and handmade items made and handled with love and care. Some products are altered in a separate workshop to a new and more wearable item. On the website you will find things that used to from the 50s to the 90 dates. Times like the Baroque, Romanticism and Art Deco are a major source of inspiration.

Ilovevintage distinguish itself from the mass production in the world of retail. Buy or order a product at ILV and you will have the Security not show up anywhere with the same item as someone else.

In March a little shop will be opened at the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam, but if you can’t wait take a peek at the ilovevintage.com website, place an order and they will send your request trough the mail.

Ilovevintage is the perfect combination of fashion and emotion.

The world beneath your feet…

Nov. 19th 2009 by Amy Simpe (former Fesjon author)

tab It was as if they could put ‘their arms’ around my feet and warm up my heart, fill my stomach up with food or make me forget about hunger. Emptying up my bankaccount wouldn’t help one bit. I can’t afford them, not even if I used every penny I own ,and go without food for a while. They cost more than 500 dollars, often more than a thousand. That’s way above what I’m willing to pay for shoes. Tabitha’s shoes are beautiful, refined. They seem to look at life as I do. As if their place in my life has been predestined. I can feel them already, hanging on my feet. They weren’t born in lonesome factory halls, but woven together in the sun at a working place of an Italian family company.

Very cherry good vintage

Very Cherry is an amazing store in Rotterdam at the Pannekoekstraat all the style divas get their outfits in that store. Their style is like Marlene Dietrich meets Dita van Teese. The shop has a second store with vintage clothes at the Botersloot.
The shop also has a online shop and the coolest thing is: it is cheap!
The clothes are on of a kind so there is only one piece of every garment so you are unique as well and we loooove that!
So when you don’t have time to travel to Rotterdam just visit the website and shop till you drop.
